Happy Hearts' Petra Nemcova Receives Humanitarian Award
Supermodel was awarded the prize by the World Tourism Awards in recognition for her work in rebuilding schools around the world.
Supermodel and Happy Hearts Fund founder Petra Nemcova has been awarded the World Tourism Humanitarian Award in London on 3 November 2014.
Nemcova is personally involved with the operations of the fund and has been since its inception. This includes school visits around the world to support openings, meet the staff and support the communities involved. She was given the award by the World Tourism Awards for her philanthropic initiatives and vision through the creation of the Happy Hearts Fund.
Happy Hearts will have rebuilt 100 safe-resilient schools, which will benefit more than 46,000 children and 490,000 members of the community in nine different countries, by the end of 2014.
The award was designed by Mdina Glass in Malta as a symbol of the qualities of leadership and vision each awardee has to inspire philanthropy in others.
