Jamie Oliver Opens Second Restaurant in Singapore

Savour handmade pizzas and fresh pastas at Jamie’s Italian at Forum Shopping Mall.

Jamie Oliver and Hotel Properties Limited have opened a second restaurant in Singapore located at Forum Shopping Mall, which is on Orchard Road.

Two years after the launch of the first Jamie’s Italian in Singapore, the restaurant at Forum, which bears the same name, showcases a menu that is carefully curated and also offers coffee and Italian pastries. Adding to that, Jamie’s Italian Forum is the first outlet in Singapore to serve handmade pizzas that are baked to order.

The interior is rustic and casual where guests can catch a glimpse of the chefs at work through the open kitchens and different stations housing the pizza oven and pasta-making machines. Pasta is made daily on-site and the menu will feature some of the same signature dishes at its first outlet such as the penne carbonara with crispy portions of smoked pancetta, sweet buttery leeks and a traditional sauce. Other favourites include the antipasti planks with choices of meats or seasonal vegetables. Both are served on a plank stacked on tomato cans for presentation purposes, as well as to make for more space on the table.

For a good slab of meat, try the grilled pork chop marinated and cooked under a brick with parsley bagna cauda, apple, kohlrabi, lemon and crispy crackling or dig into the 220g rump steak served with fries. The Burger Italiano will satisfy those who want a towering chargrilled beef patty on bread that also includes ingredients such as melted Fontina cheese, sweet tomato salsa, hot soppressata, pickles, chilli and fried onions.

Desserts are also a must-try at the new Jamie’s Italian. The Epic Brownie is a delightful sinful dish of warm fudgy brownie with amaretto ice cream, topped with caramelised popcorns for a sweet-and-salty combination.

Guests can relax at the bar area, which sports antique brass counter tops and hand-painted decorative tiles. A long list of Italian-inspired cocktails and a range of spritz aperitifs made with flavoured liqueurs and prosecco are available but possibly the best drink to have in hand is Jamie’s Mojito or the drink variation with apple for the ladies.
