How I Travel: Debbie Wosskow OBE

Serial entrepreneur and founder of AllBright, Debbie Wosskow, on how to maximise your time on a flight.

Debbie Wosskow, co-founder of AllBright, a global club and community for women, is recognised as one of the most prominent serial entrepreneurs in the UK. She founded her first venture, a PR firm, in her mid-twenties, then went on to launch Love Home Swap, a subscription-based home exchange business which she sold for US$53 million to a division of hotel group Wyndham. She is a member of the Mayor of London's Business Advisory Board and in 2016 she was awarded an OBE for her services to business.

But her busiest time has been the last year-and-a-half since launching AllBright. The first AllBright Club was opened in Central London in March 2018, swiftly followed by one in Mayfair then one in West Hollywood.  Alongside the physical clubs, AllBright Connect offers access to a complimentary digital learning academy and networking platform.

Here she touches down with Billionaire.

Where have you just come back from?

Hong Kong and Sydney - a killer five day trip. Launching The AllBright Academy and Connect, our digital platform, for ambitious and smart minded women across Asia and Australia.

How often do you travel per month?

Long haul twice a month so I need a flatbed. Most recently I have been flying London to LA on a loop, as we opened our AllBright West Hollywood Club in the Summer.

How do you spend a flight?

I always sleep as soon as I get on the plane - my business partner says it’s my super power. And then work and WiFi take over. I never eat plane food - if I’m flying from Heathrow I load up on Itsu. And lots of green tea. No booze.

What are your five on-flight travel essentials?

1. I get straight into Calvin Klein men’s pyjama bottoms and a sweatshirt when I get on.

2. I always cleanse my face then apply Jan Marini Age Intervention Night Cream.

3. I take Melatonin.

4. I drink two litres of water.

5. I bring my Kindle. I’m currently reading ‘The Dutch House’ by Ann Patchett. I’m a big reader of fiction and am on the Board of the Women’s Prize for Fiction.

Do you go into meetings straight away usually?

Always! Straight off the plane and ready to go

What city do you like best and why?

LA - I spent the Summer there and love the community of amazing women who are our founder AllBright members.

Do you have a favourite hotel?

The Upper House in Hong Kong is a dream. And the London in LA is my second home.

Where are you off to next?

NYC - it’s next up for an AllBright Club - opening in the Meatpacking District in 2020.
