Ferretti Debuts 870 ‘Tai He Ban’ Yacht With Asia-Pacific in Mind

The yacht is 87ft (26.64m) and can accommodate 20 guests.

Luxury Italian shipbuilder Ferretti Group premiered the Ferretti Yachts 870 Tai He Ban special edition this weekend at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show.

Specifically designed with wealthy Asia-Pacific customers in mind, the yacht is 87ft (26.64m) and can accommodate 20 guests, with three cabins and two crew units for overnight stays.

With a top speed of 30 knots, the yacht joins a fleet of eight luxury models, and follows its forerunner, the Ferretti Yachts 690 Tai He Ban by Ferretti special edition of last year. Both are designed with a view to suit the requirements of the Far Eastern owner and are customised with interiors specifically designed to appeal to Chinese HNWI tastes.

The outer design is intended to be aggressive and aerodynamic, resulting in a sportier and sleeker profile. Extensive glazed surfaces make the exterior lighter, while attracting plenty of natural light that brightens the interiors. The styling results from the collaboration of Italian Studio Zuccon International Project and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.

The company drew on Chinese concepts such as harmony and rationality for inspiration for the boat. Ferretti won ‘Best Yacht Brand’ in the Hurun Best of the Best Awards in 2014.

Alessandro Tirelli, Ferretti Group Asia-Pacific sales director, commented that the Chinese market “is showing an increasing interest in the boating sector and looking for iconic products reflecting their way of enjoying life at sea”.
