What's in this issue?
In Billionaire’s Taste and Travel Issue, we journey across five continents, including island-hopping through Greenland’s wild east coast in the wake of ancient Norse explorers, as well as visiting the untouched island of Sainte Marie in Madagascar, where the world's most well-travelled couple is creating a ‘quiet luxury’ resort that gives back.
Our cover story takes us to Belize, a world biodiversity hotspot which has created a blueprint for luxury eco-tourism, with thoughtful resorts such as Francis Ford Coppola’s Turtle Inn and Blancaneaux Lodge. We meet some of the nomadic people of Kyrgyzstan on a 10-day trek through the country’s remotest parts to raise funds for women’s rights advocacy. In Transylvania we meet the fascinating Count Tibor Kalnoky, a cousin of King Charles, who, like his distant relative, is intent on preserving local cultural heritage.
As for exploration of the culinary kind, we feast at the inimitable Le Clarence in a sumptuous Parisian 19th century townhouse with acclaimed chef Christophe Pelé before sampling a tasting menu conjured up by the delightful Max Alajmo, who, in his twenties became the world’s youngest triple-Michelin-starred chef. Stars aside, we hear from some of the most disruptive and interesting young culinary entrepreneurs, Florent Pietravalle, Christophe Hardiquest and Benjamin Reilhes, who are striving to move beyond traditional plating with sustainable and seasonal methods.
We hope this issue whets the appetite for future adventures.
